October 28, 2006

This is such a heart-warming, and teary-eyed at the same time, post. It must be one of the Gifts God has bestowed upon you. I just know that I am very grateful for men and women of character and insight like yours. :)

Dear Pastor,
You must be on the same wavelength as my pastor. He went to the play Shadowland recently and talked about some of it in his sermon this morning, weaving it into an explanation of our readings.
C.S. Lewis had written about his life. He wrote about love relationships and christianity, but he never got married until he was in his 50's. So this is the story of his love for his wife and how it impacted his life. He said that even though his wife had cancer, the 7 years they had together were more precious than any of the years before, as he entered into a relationship with love. Showed him and us, that God loves us through our suffering and He is with us.
I'm thankful for you and all our chaplains who are ministering to our troops. May you continue to be a beacon of light for them and your families.
God bless.

Why I Write...

  • On 22 November 05 I received orders to report to Ft Shelby, Mississippi. I have been ordered to join the 1st Brigade Combat Team from Minnesota. I will be the chaplain of the 1-125 Field Artillary Unit, which is being re-tasked as a convoy security unit. We will leave for Iraq in the spring of 2006. Here is the story of my journey.
